Handbook of National Education Policy 2020 (Vol. - 1)
Bhalla, Veena
Handbook of National Education Policy 2020 (Vol. - 1) - New Delhi Oxford Book Company 2021 - 223p.
Education system in India was passing through a critical phase. It took many years to bring this National Education Policy 2020. The present book covers all the stages for preparing this policy from 2016 to 2020. The vision of India’s new education system has accordingly been crafted to ensure that it touches the life of each and every citizen, consistent with their ability to contribute to many growing developmental imperatives of this country on the one hand, and towards creating a just and equitable society on the other. It will be clear in the new National Education Policy about the revision and revamping of all the aspects of the education structure, its regulation and governance, to create a new system that is aligned with the aspirational goals of 21st century education, while remaining consistent with India’s traditional and value systems. The implementation of previous policies on education has focused largely on issues of access and equity. The unfinished agenda of the National Policy on Education 1986 modified in 1992 is appropriately dealt with in this Policy. This new NEP envisaged that a good education institution is one in which every student feels welcomed and cared for, where a safe and stimulating learning environment exists, where a wide range of learning experiences are offered, and where good physical infrastructure and appropriate resources conducive to learning are available to all students.
